Mercy brings more than 25 years of experience and a deep-rooted passion for compassionate animal care to her role as Practice Manager. She grew up in Manitou Springs, Colorado, where her love for animals began at an early age. At just seven years old, Mercy helped nurse an injured stray kitten back to health after a visit to a local veterinarian—a moment that solidified her path in veterinary medicine.
Mercy pursued her education at Bel-Rea Institute of Technology in Denver, Colorado, where she completed her veterinary training and passed the VTNE to earn her CVT/RVT credentials. She also holds a Master’s degree in Project Management from Colorado State University Global, blending clinical expertise with strong leadership and operational skills.
Her career spans a wide range of veterinary settings, including general practice, emergency medicine, mixed animal and exotics care, wildlife, oncology, anesthesia and surgical monitoring, and practice management. She has also contributed to the development of new fear-free hospitals, reflecting her strong commitment to minimizing stress and pain for patients.
At home, Mercy shares her life with her husband Sean, daughter Bianka, and a lively group of animals. Their pack includes Boba Fett, Dacre, and Pacifica—each with their own unique personality—as well as Carmella, a beloved guinea pig. Mercy also frequently pet-sits her cousin’s chickens, who have become honorary members of the family.
One of her favorite activities is traveling with Boba Fett to community events, where his friendly personality makes him a natural ambassador for connecting with pet parents. Outside of work, Mercy enjoys roller skating and roller derby, cheering on her daughter at soccer games, traveling, exploring the outdoors with her dogs, and riding motorcycles with her husband. She also has a creative side and enjoys writing, drawing, and playing the violin when time allows.
Mercy is especially passionate about fear-free and pain-free veterinary care, striving to create positive experiences for both pets and their people. She leads the team at UrgentVet The Woodlands where they treat minor injuries and illnesses in cats and dogs.
