Andrea Jervis

Andrea has a lifelong passion for animals that began in her childhood in Waukegan, IL. Growing up, her grandparents had a variety of animals, including dogs and cats, which sparked her love for animals from a young age. Andrea discovered that she had a special ability to work with scared or injured pets, leading her to develop a strong interest in animal behavior and rehabilitation. She is continually motivated by the desire to learn more about animals and their unique needs.

Andrea brings over 10 years of experience to her role, with a background primarily in rescue and no-kill animal shelters, where she worked as a veterinary assistant. She also has experience in General Practice (GP), making her well-rounded in various aspects of animal care. Her dedication to understanding and helping animals in need makes her a compassionate and knowledgeable leader at UrgentVet Arlington Heights.

One of Andrea’s most cherished memories with an animal comes from her childhood, when her grandfather’s Collie mix, Sheba, would race with her around his large garden. Sheba, who would let Andrea “win” the races, became a beloved companion and a key part of Andrea’s formative years. This memory highlights Andrea’s lifelong connection to animals and the special bond they share with us.

Outside of her work at UrgentVet, Andrea enjoys nature walks with her dog, developing her green thumb by caring for a variety of plants, and spending quality time with friends and family. She enjoys doing puzzles and hosting game nights, making time for both relaxation and connection.

At home, Andrea lives with her teenage daughter, their two cats—Indigo, a tuxedo cat, and Aries, a brown tabby—and their Aussie mix, Seraphina (Sera). Her love for animals extends to every part of her life, and she is always happy to hear about the positive impacts pets have on their families.

Andrea’s deep passion for animal care, coupled with her extensive experience, makes her an exceptional Practice Manager at UrgentVet Arlington Heights. She provides compassionate care and creates a welcoming environment for both pets and their families, always learning and growing in her role to ensure the best care possible.
