Lanie, the Practice Manager at UrgentVet Las Vegas West, brings a diverse background and a decade of experience to her role in veterinary care. Originally from Colorado Springs, CO, Lanie’s path to veterinary medicine was unique. Unlike many who grow up knowing they want to work with animals, Lanie initially pursued a career in photography. However, as a member of a military family, she sought a career that would allow for flexibility and easy relocation, which led her to transition into the veterinary field.

Lanie received her Associate’s Degree in Veterinary Technology from Broadview University in Layton, UT, and has since accumulated 10 years of experience working in various areas of veterinary care, including General Practice (GP), Emergency care, and now Urgent Care, with emergency care being where the bulk of her expertise lies.

Outside of her veterinary work, Lanie enjoys reading, pottery, and spending time with her family. She has a full household, living with her husband, two children, two dogs, three cats, a snake, and a tarantula—making her a true animal lover! Her pets include Saturn, a Ball Python; Bristol, a Chihuahua; Newt, a Staffordshire Terrier; Bear, a Black Domestic Shorthair; Greg, a Black and White Domestic Medium Hair; Faolan, a Black Domestic Shorthair; and Yggdrasil, a Young Curly Hair Tarantula.

One of Lanie’s most memorable moments with animals has been with her newest addition, Newt, her first puppy. Having always had older dogs, it has been a special experience for her to watch Newt grow and develop his unique personality. Despite being a cat person at heart, Lanie’s experience with Newt has been a heartwarming reminder of the joy that pets bring into our lives, no matter their species.

Lanie’s extensive experience in emergency care and her deep connection to her own animals make her an empathetic and knowledgeable leader at UrgentVet Las Vegas West. She is dedicated to ensuring that every pet receives top-notch care in a compassionate and understanding environment.
