Amanda, Practice Manager at UrgentVet Oro Valley, brings 25 years of experience to the veterinary field. Growing up in Sackets Harbor, NY, Amanda’s love for animals began at a young age, with an initial interest in wildlife rehabilitation. However, her first job in veterinary medicine introduced her to working with exotics, and she quickly found her passion there, which has guided her career ever since.
One of Amanda’s most special memories with animals is meeting and eventually adopting her first dog, a greyhound rescued directly off the track. After a year of waiting, once she had a home with a big yard, Amanda brought him into her life. This experience not only deepened her love for animals but also led her to become involved with AZGreyhounds Rescue.
Amanda holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental and Forest Biology from the State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry in Syracuse, NY. Outside of her veterinary work, she enjoys painting, restoring furniture, and reading fantasy novels.
At home, Amanda shares her life with her two dogs—Jayne, a cockapoo/blue heeler, and Pond, a Chihuahua/Australian shepherd—as well as her bearded dragon, Abraxos, and her Arizona Desert Tortoise, Darwin.
With her extensive background in General Practice, Emergency, Exotics, Dog Training, and Greyhound Rescue, Amanda is a compassionate and knowledgeable leader at UrgentVet Oro Valley, dedicated to providing exceptional care to both pets and their families.
