Christina Hurlburt

Born and raised in Connecticut, Christina discovered her calling in veterinary medicine somewhat unexpectedly. While exploring different career paths in her mid-20s, she began working at an emergency veterinary clinic and quickly realized she had found her passion. Over the past 12 years, Nina has gained extensive experience across general practice, emergency, and specialty medicine, including critical care, hospice and palliative care, and internal medicine.

Nina’s deep appreciation for the urgent care model comes from her time in ICU and critical care, where she saw firsthand how vital it is to bridge the gap between general practice and emergency services. She takes pride in helping pets and their parents get the care they need – when they need it most.

Outside of UrgentVet, Nina enjoys live music, crafting, and spending time in her flower garden during the summer. She shares her home with her partner, Bryan, their dog Riley, and three cats, Stellan, Orange Catssidy, and Willow Nightintail, each of whom adds their own special charm to her life.

Her favorite memory with an animal is the day Stellan came home and immediately made himself at ease – a reminder to Nina that home isn’t a place, but a feeling shared with those you love.

Christina leads the team at UrgentVet New Britain where they treat non-life-threatening emergencies of cats and dogs.
