Edward Nieto

Edward grew up in North Lauderdale, FL, and has always been passionate about helping animals. This passion was sparked at the age of 8 when his family’s Shih Tzu, Puchie, was hit by a car. Thanks to the veterinarian and their staff, Puchie’s life was saved, inspiring Edward to pursue a career in veterinary medicine.

One of Edward’s most cherished memories is from his time as a Veterinary Technician. A rescue group brought puppies to his hospital and among them was a scrawny mixed breed who instantly bonded with him. He adopted the puppy, naming him Chopper, and they became inseparable.

Edward’s love for the ocean greatly influences his hobbies. He enjoys scuba diving, fishing, and caring for his 150-gallon reef tank. As a true Florida native, he embraces the sunny, outdoor lifestyle that South Florida offers.

Edward lives with his American Bulldog, Mace Windu, and a variety of saltwater fish. He brings 25 years of diverse experience in the veterinary field to UrgentVet Boca Raton, having worked as a Veterinary Technician and Practice Manager in general practice hospitals. His extensive background includes handling emergencies and working with exotic animals, making him an asset when leading the UrgentVet Boca Raton team.
