Jennifer brings six years of veterinary experience to UrgentVet Lakeville, with a background in general practice. Before transitioning into veterinary medicine, she spent her career in human healthcare as a registered nurse, bringing a unique perspective and a deep commitment to compassionate patient care for both pets and their families.
Originally from Prior Lake, Minnesota, Jennifer made the move into veterinary medicine during the COVID-19 pandemic, looking for a new way to combine her healthcare experience with her love for animals. She quickly found a rewarding career dedicated to supporting pets and the people who care for them.
One patient who will always hold a special place in Jennifer’s heart is Groot, a loving Shar-Pei who defied every stereotype of the breed with his gentle personality. As Groot’s battle with Shar-Pei fever came to an end, Jennifer and her team surrounded him and his family with comfort and compassion during his final moments—an experience that reinforced the importance of providing support through every stage of a pet’s life.
Jennifer earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from the University of Saint Mary’s. Outside of work, she enjoys cooking, baking, and photography.
At home, Jennifer shares life with her two daughters and their three pets: Finn, a rescued terrier mix; Zeppelin, a Welsh Pembroke Corgi; and Onion, an orange tabby cat.
A fun fact about Jennifer? One of her favorite parts of veterinary medicine is witnessing the special bond between pets and the people who love them.
