Daphine brings 12 years of veterinary experience to UrgentVet Liberty, with a background in general practice, emergency medicine, rescue, and urgent care. As a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT), she is passionate about advocating for pets while helping educate and support the people who love them.
Originally from Snellville, Georgia, Daphine’s journey into veterinary medicine was inspired by her childhood dog, Max. As Max grew older and lost his mobility, she spent hours caring for him, keeping him comfortable, and simply sitting by his side. Although she was young at the time, the experience left a lasting impact and inspired her to pursue a career where she could help prevent unnecessary suffering while guiding pet owners through every stage of their pets’ lives.
One patient who will always hold a special place in Daphine’s heart is Alfie, a Boston Terrier diagnosed with a mediastinal mass. Despite a difficult prognosis, Alfie exceeded expectations, giving his family another year and a half of cherished memories. His resilience, trust, and joyful spirit reminded Daphine to appreciate every moment and continue approaching each patient with compassion and hope.
Daphine earned an Associate of Arts degree from Wichita State University and completed the Veterinary Technician Program at Metropolitan Community College–Maple Woods, where she received her Registered Veterinary Technician license. Outside of work, she enjoys playing competitive women’s volleyball, co-ed and women’s slow-pitch softball, pickleball, and spending time with her pets.
Her four-legged family includes four dogs—Milo, an Australian Shepherd/Border Collie mix; Rickie Bobbie, a Chihuahua mix; Duke, a Labrador Retriever mix; and Hope, a Rottweiler/Pit Bull mix—as well as two cats, Baxter, a one-eyed domestic shorthair tabby, and Goose, a white and gray domestic shorthair.
A fun fact about Daphine? She has a soft spot for senior Chihuahuas – the older, the better! There’s a good chance she’ll say hello to your pet before introducing herself to you!
