Van’s love of animals began when he was a child, growing up in New Orleans. People in the neighborhood always remember him bringing home animals and insisting on helping them.
Later in life, Van received his Bachelor’s degree at Prairie View A&M University where after graduation, he continued his academic career at Sam Houston State and earned his Master’s Degree.
In total, Van has been in the veterinary field for 15 years. This includes 8 years in emergency medicine along with valuable experience gained in general practice hospitals, animal shelters, specialty animal practices and affordable care facilities.
He is proud to lead the care team at UrgentVet – The Woodlands. His favorite part of his job is watching a pet leave the clinic after being treated by the care team there.
When Van is not at UrgentVet, he can be found enjoying his two other passions – being outdoors and working on cars. Van loves to spend time with his wife, two baby girls, their ball python named Alfonzo, and their two dogs Mac (a Great Dane) and Brick (an American Bully).
