Originally from Palm Coast, Florida, Kaitlin Holmes has been immersed in veterinary medicine since high school. After enrolling in a vet assistant program as a student, she began working in a veterinary hospital and has never looked back. With over 14 years of experience in the field, Kaitlin brings a wealth of clinical knowledge, leadership skills, and a deep passion for patient care to her role at UrgentVet Fort Myers.
Kaitlin’s veterinary background includes general practice and emergency/critical care (ECC), with some of her most formative experience coming from her time as a supervisor at the University of Florida Small Animal Hospital. There, she helped set the standard for exceptional veterinary care—something she brings to every patient and pet parent she encounters. She’s currently completing her Certified Veterinary Practice Manager (CVPM) credential through Penn Foster to further strengthen her impact as a leader.
Among her many memorable experiences in the field, one that stands out is the day two of her personal dogs were brought in with treatable injuries but were scheduled for euthanasia. Kaitlin stepped in, and thanks to her advocacy and care, those pups are now living healthy, happy lives with their canine siblings.
At home, Kaitlin shares life with her partner and their six dogs: French Bulldogs Tessie, Tilly, Blizzy, and Fendi; Louie the Chihuahua; and Mako the Belgian Malinois. Her personal time is filled with adventure—whether she’s attending Tampa Bay Lightning games, tackling escape rooms, or enjoying both salt and freshwater fishing.
Kaitlin’s leadership style is rooted in empathy, excellence, and a relentless commitment to providing the gold standard of care. She’s proud to lead a team at UrgentVet Fort Myers that treats every patient like family.
