Jessica, born and raised in Tucson, AZ, where her passion for animals was evident from a young age. Initially aspiring to work with marine species, the desert landscape of her hometown led her to explore other avenues within the veterinary field. Jessica considered becoming an animal control officer or a veterinarian but decided to test the waters by delving into animal nursing. This hands-on experience solidified her love for the nursing aspect of veterinary care, prompting her to pursue a career as a veterinary technician.
One of Jessica’s most memorable experiences was running anesthesia on a Honeycomb Stingray undergoing surgery for a gastrointestinal perforation. The procedure was a success, and the stingray can now be seen at Odysea Aquarium, a testament to Jessica’s skill and dedication.
Outside of her professional life, Jessica enjoys spending time with her husband, John, who is a veterinarian, and their extensive pet family in Mesa. Their household includes 8 dogs and 2 cats, each with their unique personalities and names: Constance the calico, Gabe the poodle/bichon mix, Monty the corgi, Pearl the Brussels mix, Penny the Ihasa/shih tzu mix, Pete the shih tzu, Russer the pit-bull puppy, Toast the French bulldog, Wanda the orange tabby, and Zoey the shih Tzu, whom Jessica affectionately calls the cutest dog ever.
Jessica loves the outdoors, enjoying activities such as hiking, swimming, and exploring. She also has a passion for trying new restaurants, traveling, and shopping. Known for her sense of humor, she enjoys making people laugh and often thinks about what it would be like to be an actress if she weren’t in the veterinary field.
With a wealth of experience and a heart full of passion for animal care, Jessica continues to make a significant impact in the veterinary community as the Practice Manager of UrgentVet Cave Creek.
