Emily Capra

Emily grew up in Roanoke, Virginia where she has always been able to connect with animals. While in college, she originally was focusing on business and law while working part-time jobs and in between pet sitting, at pet stores, etc. It was not until she took a full-time job as a receptionist and quickly transitioned to being a veterinary assistant that she went back to school to study veterinary technology at Penn Foster College.

At home, Emily and her husband have a full house – 2 dogs (Link an Australian Shepherd-mix, and Zelda a miniature American Shepherd), 2 cats (Rey and Kylo both a Domestic Shorthair), and a Hermann Tortoise named Mr. Turtle. With all her furry friends, she can often relate to many pet-parents, but specifically those who have pets that experience seizures due to her dog Zelda who has Epilepsy.

Outside of the clinic, Emily enjoys all kinds of art, photography, hiking and camping, basketball, food, and extreme couponing! She joins us at UrgentVet with 6 years of experience in General Practice and Urgent Care settings.

Emily leads the team at UrgentVet – Cary where she leads a team that treats minor injuries and illnesses in dogs and cats.
