Sarah Leedom has always had a love for animals growing up. Her true passion for helping animals, however, started in the spring of 2012 when she moved to Yosemite National Park. There she adopted three cats: Kingsford, Kai, and Bagheera. Living in a National Park, Sarah also had the opportunity to spend time with wildlife and learn how the National Park Service handles conservation of species, which only made her love for animals grow.

In Spring of 2016, she started her schooling to become a Licensed Veterinary Technician in Las Vegas, Nevada at Pima Medical Institute while also working at a local General Practice and at the local Emergency Center. Emergency will always be a passion of hers and her favorite cases were Parvo Puppies and IMHA patients.

In Fall of 2019, Sarah decided to spread her wings and move out of state to Austin, Texas where she was working as an Overnight ICU Technician Lead and later became the Surgery Department Lead at one of the local specialty centers. This is where she learned her love for teaching.

Sarah believes that UrgentVet is a great opportunity to not only provide the pet parent and patient with great experience and service but to also provide a great learning opportunity for the team. She is excited to be able to put the things she loves to do into practice and create an environment of growth and opportunity for Pet Parents, Patients, and Staff.

In her spare time, she can be found curled up with a good book, writing her own stories, and hiking the local trails. She also has a love for finding local family-owned food spots throughout the Austin area and sharing her experiences with the world. Kingsford, Kai, and Bagheera have been with her the whole way, even donating blood to those in need when able. Not only has her pet parents, patients, and team fueled her love for this field but so have her three best friends who have been with her every step of the way.
