Brooke Poteat grew up not too far from Huntersville, in Statesville North Carolina. As a child, she was always surrounded by animals and recognized her passion for their well-being at an early age.
In college, Brooke studied a variety of subjects, but fell in love with Anthropology. This learning path led her to her first experience working with animals in need. She traveled to Thailand and worked with conservation groups – focusing on getting street animals throughout Asia much-needed care.
After college, Brooke began her career working in a general practice veterinary clinic. Her experience and education prepared her for the next stage of her career – the role of Practice Manager at UrgentVet Pet Clinic in Huntersville.
She’s proud to serve the pets and pet parents of Huntersville and points beyond. Soon after she knew she loved the field and found herself at UrgentVet where she could continue to help pets in need.
In her spare time she enjoys taking long walks with her dog Charlee, laying by the pool on a hot day, and on the cold days – cozying up by a fire and reading a book.
