Brittney, the Practice Manager at UrgentVet Midlothian, has a lifelong passion for animals that began in her childhood in Rowlett, Texas. Raised in a family that frequently took in animals, Brittney’s love for pets was nurtured early on. Her mother rescued a Ball Python abandoned by a neighborhood child, while her grandmother worked in Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) in a small country town, where Brittney spent many summers. These formative experiences shaped her deep connection with animals and sparked her interest in the veterinary field.

With 7 years of experience in the veterinary field, Brittney has worked in various roles, including General Practice, Emergency-ICU, and Urgent Care. Her time working with animals has given her a special understanding of the bond between pets and their owners. One of her most cherished memories is with her cat Zelda, who was a source of comfort during Brittney’s illness in college. Zelda’s intuition and persistence helped Brittney recover, further solidifying her appreciation for the emotional support animals provide.

Outside of her professional role, Brittney enjoys crafting, particularly hand embroidery and needle felting. She lives with her partner, Ris, and an assortment of beloved pets, including her dog Watson, a 4-year-old Pitbull mix, and six cats: Zelda, Smeagol, CJ, Nala, Charlie, and Rosie, along with a Crested Gecko named Rheagal.

Her personal experiences with her own pets, particularly Watson, who struggled with anxiety at the vet, have fueled her passion for creating a fear-free environment for all animals. Brittney is committed to ensuring that pets and their owners feel comfortable and cared for during their visits to UrgentVet Midlothian.
