Born and raised in Overland Park, Melody discovered her passion for educating local elementary students about animals during a high school environmental education class. Inspired by the experience, she pursued a bachelor’s degree in Biology and obtained her associates in Animal Science from the Maple Woods Community College Vet Technician program. Beyond her work at UrgentVet, Melody is a multi-talented individual with interests ranging from cross-stitching and creating dollhouses to collecting Legos, crocheting, reading, pottery, and various other arts and crafts. As a proud “girl mom,” Melody shares her life with two Rottweilers named Pandora and Truffles, along with three feline companions named Harley Quinn, Lady Shiva, and Talia Al’Ghul—revealing her love for Batman.

With an impressive 19-year journey in the veterinary field encompassing General Practice, Emergency and Specialty care, teaching at a veterinary technician school, and volunteering at a Tiger Rescue, Melody brings a wealth of experience to her role.

Melody, along with her dedicated team, specializes in treating minor injuries and illnesses in cats and dogs in the Overland Park, Kansas area.
