Jennifer brings a range of experience and a deep-rooted passion for animal care. Growing up in Bardstown, Kentucky, Jennifer was the youngest of eight children, and her cherished moments with her father – who shared his extensive knowledge of nature – sparked her lifelong fascination with animals and the natural world.
One of Jennifer’s favorite animal memories involves adopting a long-haired Chihuahua named Larry from a small clinic where she worked. Initially hesitant due to Larry’s reputation and her young children, Jennifer was won over when Larry immediately bonded with her kids, becoming a beloved family protector for 12 years.
With 25 years in the veterinary field, her career began as a groomer before transitioning into general practice as a veterinary assistant.
Outside of work, Jennifer enjoys spending time with her family, golfing, tackling design/build projects, and gardening. She lives with her husband Adam and their two dogs – Darrel, a Great Dane/Pointer mix, and Teeter, a Bluetick Coonhound/Pointer mix, and their two adult children, Sam and Katie.
A fun fact about Jennifer is that she has a unique skill of having an exceptional sense of smell – which allows her to detect infections that might elude others. Her extensive experience and personal touch make her a valued leader of UrgentVet Louisville.
