Jennifer (Liss) is the Practice Manager at UrgentVet Park Meadows, bringing nearly 9 years of experience in the veterinary field. Growing up on a small farm in rural Utah, Liss’ early experiences with animals shaped her deep passion for both animal care and the medical field. As a child, she was fascinated by the annual “clinic on wheels” that brought veterinary care to her area. When she was about six years old, she had the opportunity to watch a veterinarian perform a neutering procedure on their family cat, which sparked her interest in veterinary medicine and inspired her to pursue a career where she could help animals in need.
Liss has worked in a variety of veterinary settings, starting in a mixed general practice (GP) that saw everything from large animals to small, and from preventative care to emergencies. She then served as a lead technician in two other GP clinics, where she gained experience in everything from orthopedic surgery to laser therapy. In 2023, Liss transitioned into her current role as Practice Manager at UrgentVet, bringing her hands-on experience and leadership skills to the team.
Outside of work, Liss has a wide range of interests. She enjoys writing, playing the cello, reading, and practicing MMA. She shares her home with her spouse, Ben, and their two dogs—Gir, a Labrador Retriever, and Temari, a Miniature Australian Shepherd—as well as their two cats, Dionysus and Ebony. When she’s not busy with her pets, Jennifer enjoys spending time with the wild prairie dogs that live behind her home.
Liss’ favorite animal memories are many, but some of the most cherished involve horseback riding in the mountains near her childhood home. With her love for animals and her extensive experience in veterinary care, Liss is dedicated to providing compassionate and exceptional care for all the pets that come through the doors at UrgentVet Park Meadows.
