Chelsea brings over 15 years of veterinary experience to her role as Practice Manager at UrgentVet West Orlando. Born and raised in Oahu, Hawaii, Chelsea grew up in a military family and moved often, so she naturally gravitated toward animals, finding comfort and companionship in their presence. One of her earliest memories is walking door-to-door on base, offering to walk neighbors’ pets. That early passion turned into a lifelong calling.
She earned her Associate’s Degree in Animal Science from the Vet Tech Institute at Hickey College in St. Louis, Missouri, and is a Certified Veterinary Technician with the Florida Veterinary Technician Association. Over the years, Chelsea has worked in general practice, specialty care, and academia, holding nearly every role in the hospital, from kennel assistant and receptionist to technician and now manager. Her well-rounded experience gives her a deep understanding of the inner workings of veterinary medicine and a strong empathy for both patients and their people.
Chelsea has a special interest in animal behavior and values building trust with even the most fearful pets. One of her favorite memories is helping a dog who previously could only be seen under sedation. With time and patience, she gained his trust and was able to complete exams without sedation, an emotional milestone for both the pet and the owner.
Outside of UrgentVet, Chelsea enjoys building Legos, bowling, playing video games on her Switch, and participating in animal sports like barn hunt, Fast CAT, agility, and obedience. She shares her home with a lively crew: Sage the Bull Terrier, Dill and Oregano (nicknamed “Reggie”) the Jagdterriers, Mavis the Domestic Shorthair, Nimbus the Manx, and a goldfish named Tom.
Veterinary medicine is more than a career for Chelsea – it’s part of her identity. She’s passionate about leading a team that delivers compassionate, skilled care to every patient that walks through the doors of UrgentVet West Orlando.
