Jennifer brings over 20 years of diverse experience in the veterinary field. Growing up in Fort Smith, Arkansas, Jennifer always had a passion for science and a natural affinity for animals, which inspired her to pursue a career in veterinary medicine from a young age.
She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Zoology from Oklahoma State University and an Associate’s degree in Veterinary Technology from Crowder College in Missouri. Throughout her career, Jennifer has worked in various sectors, including small animal, large animal, and exotic medicine, with roles in general practice, emergency, and urgent care settings. Her commitment to animal welfare extends beyond her professional duties, having volunteered with humane societies and rescue organizations.
One of her favorite memories involves a visit to a Wolf Conservation site in Colorado, where she had the incredible opportunity to interact with and pet wolves—a testament to her deep connection with animals. At home, Jennifer shares her life with her husband, John, their beloved 13-year-old chihuahua mix, Itzy Bitzy, and their playful 5-year-old tabby cat, Rum Tum Tugger.
Outside of work, Jennifer enjoys reading, hiking, fishing, and is an avid bowler. She is a Certified Veterinary Practice Manager, an Elite Fear Free Certified Professional, and holds a specialty certification in Human Resources, reflecting her dedication to both animal care and practice management. She is excited to lead that team at UrgentVet Tulsa where they treat non-life-threatening emergencies in cats and dogs.
