Rachel Gillaspie

Practice Manager

At a young age, Rachel Gillaspie would proudly exclaim she wanted to be a veterinarian or a professional rock climber. After the realization that she was terrified of heights, the professional rock climber career was out of the question. Rachel decided to continue on the path to working in the veterinary field.

She attended Penn Foster receiving her Veterinary Technician associate degree and quickly began working in the field in both a general practice and a specialty hospital with 10 DVMs. After gaining seven years of experience, Rachel now leads the team at UrgentVet – Park Meadows.

One of the many memories Rachel has been the time one of her pet patients came in after a fight over his housemates’ food. He was a retired Greyhound and was the sweetest boy in the world. She and her team had to do weeks of tie down bandages and laser therapy on him. But no matter the challenges he was facing, the Greyhound continued to come in and give out head bumps to her before and after every treatment.

Outside of UrgentVet, Rachel can be found camping with her husband and their two dogs, Joy a 14-year-old Lab Pitbull Mix and Ziva a 7-year-old German Shepherd – Cattle dog mix. Rachel also enjoys driving cars on the racetrack or in autocross, horseback riding, and just being outdoors in nature in any way possible.

Rachel loves the veterinary field and is excited for the challenges ahead. Even if difficult and long like that of the aforementioned Greyhound. She’s honored to a part of the veterinary community in Park Meadows, Colorado.
