Sharita Williams

Rita was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY.  They have been passionate about the well-being of pets and veterinary medicine since a very young age and have been in the animal care field for 17 years.  In pursuing their veterinary career, they relocated to Virginia where they worked as a veterinary assistant in general practice.  Rita later moved to North Carolina with their family where they found their passion for emergency and specialty medicine.

Over the years they have been a champion for fellow assistants and technicians. They were motivated to seek out positions that would allow them to directly impact change for their team.  They have since served as an ER shift lead, practice manager and specialty veterinary technician manager.  Rita is excited to now be managing UrgentVet Chapel Hill and providing the gold standard of care for pets in need.

Rita is a firm believer in honoring best practices in medicine, teamwork and outstanding customer service because you don’t get a second chance to make a first impression. With that in mind, Rita’s vision is that every pet and pet parent experience a positive, caring environment from the moment they enter UrgentVet through discharge.

Outside of work, Rita enjoys spending time with their wife, three boys and five pets – a shepherd mix named George, a Pitbull mix named Luther, a sweet tortoiseshell cat named Sokatra, a shy domestic shorthair named Linguini and a bearded Dragon named Kakoa. Rita is a free spirit who enjoys karaoke, the outdoors, traveling, and is a huge foodie!
