Meagan, the Practice Manager at UrgentVet McCandless, has over 20 years of experience in the veterinary field. Growing up in Springfield, Massachusetts, she discovered her passion for animals in 2004 when she rescued a dog with severe separation anxiety. This experience sparked her interest in animal behavior, leading her to pursue classes in the field while working alongside veterinarians to understand the medical side of animal care. Her journey further evolved as she learned to combine her behavioral expertise with a broad range of veterinary tech skills.
Meagan’s professional background includes working in rescues and shelters, where she has had the privilege of helping countless pets and their owners. One of her favorite memories was helping a frightened dog overcome her anxiety about getting weighed, highlighting her deep commitment to improving the lives of pets in need.
Outside of work, Meagan enjoys hiking, reading, and playing her clarinet, with classical training in music. She lives with her husband, Jack, their cat Simon, and is eagerly anticipating the arrival of a new puppy soon.
Meagan’s compassionate approach to veterinary care, combined with her diverse skill set and experience, makes her a valued leader at UrgentVet McCandless.
