Maharshi is the dedicated Practice Manager at UrgentVet Meyerland, bringing a rich and diverse background to his role. Growing up in India, Malawi, New Jersey, and now settling in Houston, Texas, Maharshi’s global experiences have shaped his compassionate approach to veterinary care.
Maharshi’s passion for the veterinary field was sparked in first grade during a school assembly when he played a veterinarian. Intrigued by the role and inspired by his mother’s explanation, he decided then and there to pursue a career helping animals. Over the past sixteen years, Maharshi has navigated various positions in veterinary care—from kennel tech to front desk, technician, and shift lead—culminating in his current role as a practice manager. His journey has shifted from aspiring to be a veterinarian to becoming an inspiring leader who fosters engagement and development in the field.
One of Maharshi’s favorite memories is witnessing his patients recover and fight back during treatment, a testament to the quality of care he strives to provide. His educational background includes an Associate’s in Veterinary Technology from Penn Foster and a Bachelor’s in Animal Science and Wildlife Biology from Arizona State University.
Outside of work, Maharshi enjoys writing poetry and attempting to turn his poems into songs. He also loves canvas painting, though he doesn’t do it as often as he would like. He lives with his partner, Matthew, and their Maltese-Poodle mix, Trixie, and looks forward to expanding their family with more pets in the future.
Fluent in five languages, skilled in playing four instruments, and ambidextrous, Maharshi brings a unique set of talents and a deep dedication to his role at UrgentVet Meyerland.
