Kim Cromer

After leaving general practice, she found herself drawn to neurology and emergency medicine. She worked in neurology (Bush Veterinary Neurology Service) and emergency clinics (BluePearl) in the Atlanta area until 2020, when she moved to Boulder, CO. In Boulder, she dabbled in internal medicine, neurology, and emergency/critical care at Colorado Animal Specialty and Emergency clinic, one of the state’s largest specialty practices.

Upon moving back to the east coast in 2022, Kim found herself interested in veterinary hospital management. Since joining UrgentVet, she’s been called upon to assist in overseeing practices in the Charlotte area (Gastonia, Ballantyne, Belmont, and now Matthews!). Although she currently works as a practice manager, she enjoys being hands-on in the field as well, so she still picks up shifts at a local emergency clinic as an Emergency/Triage assistant to keep her skills sharp.

When asked what her career aspiration is, Kim said, “I want to be the manager I always wanted as a veterinary assistant,” she continued, “To give my team the tools and support they need to provide excellent patient care and customer service.”

In her free time, Kim likes to hang out with her fiancé (a registered veterinary technician) and their 3 dogs: Havarti (dachshund), Casanova (chihuahua mix), and Dalton (dachshund).

“Our love for veterinary medicine overflows into our home; we pet sit disabled dogs regularly. For fun, we work on a food truck during festival season and love any activity that involves being in the water.”
