Estefania Calle

Dr. Estefania Calle grew up in Cuenca-Ecuador. At the age of 4, she quickly realized she felt a purpose to make a difference in animals’ lives. The veterinary world was no stranger to Estefania, as her Aunt was her inspiration to become a veterinarian. From there, her path became clear when she received her Bachelor of Science in Animal Health and Behavior with a focus on Wildlife Ecology from Unity College in Maine. From there, she went on to achieve her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine and Zootechnician degree from the Universidad de Cuenca, Ecuador.

Known for her passion for conversation, animal health, and rehabilitation, Estefania has over 9 years of experience in the veterinary field including 4 years of wildlife rehabilitation experience in South America serving some of the world’s most endangered species. During her tenure, she has taken over 200 hours of coursework specifically around Avian Medicine to help with the rehabilitation of raptors in Ecuador where she worked at Amaru Biopark. Estefania has dedicated her professional career to raptor medicine, wildlife conservation, and continued lifelong learning.

When she is not at UrgentVet-Ballantyne, Estefania can be found in her home here in Charlotte, NC with her husband and rescue kitty. Estefania is currently working to certify her Veterinary Medicine Degree with the AVMA so she can continue to learn and grow her practice in the US.
